The relationship between the clownfish and the anemone is an example of coevolution where adaptations are based on dependence to another organism. The clownfish and anemone benefit each other as the sea anemone makes an ideal home for a clownfish as the anemone’s poisonous tentacles provide the clownfish protection from predators. A clownfish helps anemones catch its prey by luring other fish toward over so that the anemone can catch them. Clownfish also eat any dead tentacles keeping the anemone and the area around it clean.
