On that fatal day, Former President George W. Bush was obliged to address the nation, a nation aching in grief, loss, and anguish at the time. Bush’s overall message was to persuade the Americans to unite as a nation and remain as a free indestructible country. In Bush’s speech he coerced the people of the United States by using numerous rhetorical devices. Former President Bush uses vital components of rhetorical devices including ethos, logos, and pathos, to assure his audience that America remains a strong, solid country and will prevail from this attack.
