Change is a great achievement, but when it is accomplished, people have realize the process they had to do to achieve it, which can often mean stepping on other people to get to that point. Both the Russian advance to the Pacific and the Westward movement in the US, were processes that at the time upset many people, but both countries achieved and accomplished a lot, both good and bad, from those changes and movements and have forever impacted history.

They returned from this trip with samples of these fur’s. During this time, the Siberian sea-otter furs were become rare to hunt due to overhunting. Upon disovering these Alaskan sea-otter furs, they saw how much darker in color and thicker they were. This sparked many ideas for Russia and many European and Asian traders once they realized how much they could profit from these furs. Russian promyshlenniki, also known as the trappers and hunters, began searching the sea’s for these fur-bearing mammals. This upset man of the Aleuts, which are the Alaskan indigenous people. The fur trading became a very resourceful and profitable process, getting the attention of many other European and Asian nations. As the news of the furs spread, Russia responded to potential competitors and extended their claims from the Commander Islands to the mainland shores in Alaska. The Treaty of Ghent followed that and settled no recent issues but did address that the young republic state was independent. The period after this was known as the period of good feeling.
