Safety is considered a Passion. Explain your Passion for safety, and how you would use that on the Amazon Associate Safety Committee?
Safety must be the number one priority for all associates. Promoting safety not only leads to less workplace injuries per year, but will also help to increase productivity. Throughout my 9 years of fire service, some of which consisted of a safety officer, we have always operated by a slogan “Safety First”. What does this actually mean? This is a commitment to address not only the safety of yourself, but of all of those on your team (i.e. All Amazonians), with the highest priority. We must care for one another and support one another in our daily operations. …show more content…
And what in your opinion was this individual doing wrong? And how you handled the situation?
It is clear to everyone in the working-world that people are always looking for faster, more efficient ways to reach that end result. It is OK to be looking for better ways to accomplish something, but you cannot simply disregard safety in the process of doing so. During my healthcare career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, I was blessed with the opportunity to learn from many people and also to teach many people. Unfortunately, during this time, I also worked beside many people who did not take safety too seriously.
In my opinion, there are two groups of individuals who do not adhere to safety regulations or guidelines. The first group is those individuals who have been doing the same job for years (i.e. the experienced employee). This employee feels that because they have done the same job the same way for years, and have gone home every night the same as they came in that morning, there is no reason for them to follow the safety guidelines set in place. The second group is a younger employee or one with no experience who takes on the mentality “it will not ever happen to
