Mr. Nick is a patient who is on his mid 30s and suffers from schizophrenia. His sister Mrs. Jenel has been supporting him by providing him with food and shelter. Mrs. Jenel is married to Mr. Eve and have 2 children.
Mr.Nick has encountered some rough episodes with his sister’s family, to the extent that Mrs.Jenel’s husband does not want Mr.Nick in the house anymore. Mrs.Jennel also understands that her children are not safe while her brother is around. She’s very tired and needs help for her brother and own family.
Mrs. Jennel decides to take brother to see a social worker. At the session, she explains to Mrs.Yesenia, Social Worker, that she does not know how to handle the situation. He’s not taking his medication, and is causing conflicts with her marriage and safety issues towards her children.

Nick stated that he feels very bad about everything he’s causing. He wants to live independently, have a steady job and provide for himself, without having to depend or bother anyone. He wishes to sit down and speak to his brother in law and go through family group therapy.

Mrs. Yesenia, Social Worker provided the patient information about an organization that helps those with mental health issues name, NAMI, “National Alliance on Mental Illness”. There he will not only receive the services on family group therapy, but they also have workshops on stress management, drugs and alcohol, and job training and employment offers once they see you are prepared to work.
