As discussed throughout the textbook, School Counseling Principles Ethics and Law, it explains the outcomes of different cases based on legal and ethical standards of the profession of school counseling. In addition, the textbook goes into detail outline how the courts came to such decision. Furthermore, ASCA National Standards were implemented in class discussions. The pupil personal service team consists of school counselors, school social workers, school psychologists and other qualified personnel, designed to meet the needs of individual students through specialized instructions. Though the comprehensive school counseling audit, I was able to understand the dynamics a school and school district’s pupil service team. I was able to gain the knowledge about different strategies used through different tier interventions and the improvement of the school climate. Working as a team is the most effective way of meeting the needs of students with collaborating different ideas and coming up with the most proactive strategy. Professional growth and development within the counseling profession demonstrates being an advocate for students.
