And we’re off! Most of you have probably noticed some of the new things that our taking place around our school track. New coaches, new equipment, new program. All of these fantastic new things have helped our school’s new track program take a sharp turn for the better. There have been some new people hanging around the track after school is let out. Those are the people that make participating in this sport so much more fun. The coaches! Some being volunteers, others being paid coaches, the following names are of the coaches who get a little bit for themselves, the paid coaches: Coach Sproul: the hurdle coach and the mother of two of our Titan Track team members, Coach Smith: our head relay coach and the mother of an SMS track team member, Coach Cordier, our throwing coach and the father of one of our Titan Track members, and Coach Giles, the one that leads us all towards success. Now those are just some of the people that allow us to have as much …show more content…
We now have a high jump pit, a long jump pit, a throwing plate, and an official throwing ring. All of these things have definitely benefited our athletes that are very serious about their sport. Coach Lindsley brought the fact that our jumpers could use a high and long jump pit to our head coach, Coach Giles, attention. Because he did that, we now have two pits that we would not have had if it were not for him. Without those pits, our jumpers would have a lot harder time competing in those events because it is difficult to compete in an event that you can not practice in. The head coach also brought in some professionals to dig out the long jump pit and put sand in it. She also brought in some people to dig out the throwing plates and pave them over. Then they brought in the netting to put around the ring to make it official. Thanks to all of that new equipment we can now have a more competitive and successful
