My Self-Concept Paper One time someone had a positive effect on my self-confidence is when my soccer coach told me I could make the goal and I went out on the field confident and strong .Then I made the goal and that was the winning goal my dad was proud and my soccer coach. My dad even gave me money for it! Everyone kept saying, good job to me. That was a pretty awesome day for me. When someone had a negative impact on my self-esteem is when a boy came up to me at soccer practice and said, “You're bad at soccer,you can’t even make a goal against no goalie”.“Yes I can,” I said. “Well show me then,” he said. I said, “Okay”. I tried to as hard as I could and I didn’t make it. He said, “Told you so”. “Well you are right,” I whimpered. So, I went back to my soccer team and told my coach that I want to quit soccer and he said “No”. “Why,” I said, “Because you are are MVP player and you are so good at soccer,” he said. “Thanks for making me feel better,” I said.
