Self Realization To live a happy and fulfilled life, one must set their own values and ideologies. n Arthur Miller’s play, The Crucible, both Proctor and Danforth have not made self realizations to whether their reputation or integrity are more important. Thus proving, one must establish a strong reputation and integrity to live a happy life. Danforth expresses the importance of his reputation while talking to Reverend Hale. Hale is asking Danforth to pardon Proctor, Martha Corey and Rebecca Nurse of their crimes. Danforth stands by his reputation and “will not receive a single plea for pardon of postponement. Them that will not confess will hang. Twelve [have gone through execution]; the names of these seven are given out; and the village
