After reading the crucible and studying McCarthyism I believe that both are very similar in many ways but heres just a couple of them. I think the crucible by arthur miller is an allegory for the red scare in the mccarthy era because it was fake and people's lives could be lost.

The first topic of why The crucible and Joseph McCarthy are very similar because they both faked everything. For example McCarthy made up the list of 224 names on it (most of it being very popular or people in the government) just to be noticed which means he made false accusations.
