My family and I are hurt and in pain but still working, we have been working since daylight, we’ve been struck many times and every time it hurts more, there are many people here which is wrong no one should be a slave which is why I’m going to be the first person to break my family and I out. My family is a family of four which will be pretty hard to get everyone out. There’s Ma, Pa my baby sister iris and me Zeke short for Ezekiel.
So I’m very scared how I’m getting everyone out, so that’s why I’m gonna plan an escape plan. The next day in the morning before daylight we all planned to escape at exactly dawn when everyone is getting supper and the dogs are eating to, but until then I guess another day of work Zeke said with a big sigh. The next morning it was beautiful Pa woke up first then me and Ma and iris stayed asleep for another hour or so. I told Pa “where are we gonna go?” “where are we gonna stay?” Pa said “calm down boy we’ll be just fine, let me tell, you why don’t you go on up a few miles and see if there is another village.” I gave a half smile and said “all by myself?” Pa answered “yes we’re safe we’re in Canada now no one can harm us, now go on up there and see if there is town we can stay at.” So I did I went up for a few miles. It was nice being alone it quiet, peaceful. Until I heard this loud noise coming closer me so I ran as fast as I could on the side of the trail and I hid behind a tree.
