Throughout time, people have been piercing their ears for many different reasons, such as cultural embellishments. The Spanish pierce their newborn’s ears for adornment, the Cubans pierce their children’s ears as a ritual. However, in the area I was raised in, the Bay Area, ear piercings have remained as a statement of fashion. Growing up around this influence, even after the transition to Chicago, the trend has persisted ever so popular in the ears of most of my good male and female friends. Recently, it has come upon me that I have decided I would like to get my ears pierced; because I am confident of my ability to take care of them, it will bring honor to the family, and I know what I’ll do if I change my mind. Once you get your piercings you must receive a cleaning solution that your ear piercer will give you to regularly clean your ears at least once or twice a day. Using a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol to carefully clean the area around the piercings will prevent germs and scabbing. You must also keep your piercings inside your ear for no less than six to eight weeks including at night because removing them too early will cause your ear piercings to close up which will mean you will have to re pierce them …show more content…
The addition of my ears pierced in the Clarke family will honor the rest of the relatives in positive ways. For example, it will show a sense of fashion of the second son. The ears being pierced will empower my growth and allow me to mature my looks and style. In addition, because of my good looks this will enhance a better perspective and give a higher demand in terms of increasing my confidence as well as succeeding in life.
