Stereotypes In Zootopia

The movie Zootopia contains meaningful text with valuable messages about life that can be found within their many themes. Some themes that can be pulled out of the story are: no matter where one comes from you should never make assumptions before getting to know them, fear should never be the way to bring people together or it could cause people to do irrational things out of that common fear, and no matter what others say or how difficult it may be if you follow your dreams you can succeed. The biggest example of this theme in the story is with the Assistant Mayor Bellwether who tries to take over Zootopia by bringing together the prey with the common fear of predators becoming savage again. Assistant Mayor Bellwether, creates a serum that is injected into an animal to make it go “savage”, then makes the prey of Zootopia believe that they should once again fear predators. This causes prey to be even more hostile towards predators and to do so openly. The fear of predators was so strong that no one questioned the predators going savage any further and just believe the notion that it was in there DNA. In the end, all of Zootopia knows that Assistant Mayor Bellwether was the one behind this grand scheme. This is also great example in the story where Assistant Mayor Bellwether is an analogy to the metaphor “a wolf in sheep's clothing”; Assistant Mayor Bellwether, is a literal sheep which is seen to be meek and follow others, but on the inside she was a “wolf” that schemed to control others. So in conclusion, Zootopia show us that fear should never be the way to bring people together or it could cause people to do irrational things out of that common
