Strength-Based Leadership Development
My vision for an improved healthcare environment is to build a strong and sustainable culture of evidence-based practice (EBP) nursing that is embedded in the mind of every nurse. As an advance practice nurse (APN), I can facilitate the transition in practice by promoting a spirit of inquiry in my facility. According to Melnyk (2016), when the spirit of inquiry pervades in an organization, healthcare providers are determined to explore and critically-appraise evidences. Transformational leadership is needed so EBP can permeate in the DNA of the organization (Gallagher-Ford, 2014). I can see myself as an emerging transformational leader that will use innovative styles to attain this vision.
