After taking the Gallup Strengths Finder Assessment I was given five traits that describe me the best. Futuristic, Responsibility, Belief, Restorative, and Achiever. I believe that these traits do a good job of summing up my personality and my moral character. I am in complete agreement with the agreement result of the test. I have always had my mind in the future, and making decisions today based on how they will impact my future. I spend a lot of my time thinking and planning my future, to ensure that I have a plan and goals to keep me down the right road. I have never been one to dwell on the past, and I am always focusing on improving myself for the future. When it came to the responsibility portion of the results, I was excited to see that that is one of my top five strengths. The description mentioned that this means that I stay true to my word. I would have to say that I have always focused on being a “man of my word.” A man from my church told me a while ago that “A man who doesn’t have his word, doesn’t have much at all.” I was taken by surprise by this quote. I act in certain ways because that is who I am. That is “how I am wired.” I work hard, because I have shaped myself after my siblings who have always worked hard, and because I believe hard work is the greatest strength of all. I take a long time to make hard decisions because I am taking my beliefs as well as facts into the equation to make sure that I make the right decision in the long run. I don’t have to wonder why I take so long to decide things anymore. It’s how I’m wired. Now that I know my strengths and personalities, I can work on improving them even more. I can make sure that these are displayed daily, to help me lead others and give them a good role to follow. Improving these strengths will make me a more impactful leader and all around
