Women’s Rights activists fought for suffrage for women relentlessly. They were arrested for fighting to be treated equally and told that they could not do it but they persevered. Their hard work and struggles impacted how women are looked at and treated forever. There were petitions, rallies, and strikes sweeping the nation while manufacturing processes are improving and changing. This was the biggest time in history for industries. While more workers were needed for these new inventions and manufacturers, women wanted those jobs and wanted to be able to be equal to men to prove they could do labor. In doing so then they wanted to be paid more and be able to vote. All these things were being fought for daily. Some women spent their entire life trying to get rights for basic things like marrying someone you want to be with, owning land, and voting for president. They did not just fight for women but for slaves as well. Women’s rights activists were responsible for some of the most important petitions which ended slavery. I think they liked being more dominant and didn’t want to give that up. “Lawmakers must reflect on the will of the people”(Carol Bremmam). Now before a law is passed , it goes through so much filtration to make sure that it follows the rights of the people. If a law is proven just to the point where it shows that all sexes are equal. “Women couldn’t participate in most activities without permission from their spouse”(Carol Brennan). Full grown adults needed permission to do things like leave the house, make friends, and other everyday activities. If you compare now to then, you see how ridiculous it truly is that they needed permission for simple tasks. This was a large reason that women would strike and
