Summary: Boston King was an African American slave during the Revolutionary War. From being an adolescent to a young adult, King’s experiences involve being a slave, soldier and a freeman. As a sixteen-year-old, King is a slave whose skills are focused on being a carpenter. The two initial experiences Bostin King shares are parallel from the beginning of the issue until the resolution. Being a carpenter during the Revolutionary War indicated that each nail or tool had to be used wisely.
