In the essay “A Change of Attitude” by Grant Berry, people will argue if Berry’s father was a positive or negative role model or even both. Berry’s father was not a positive role model when it came to his education and the importance. Berry’s father did not encourage, set up an example, nor show him to achieve in life. The first reason as to why Berry’s father was not a positive role model was that he did not encourage Berry to continue and further his education. Therefore, the only encouragement Berry’s father ever gave grant was this, “Send me anywhere, but don’t send me to school.” Now what kind of encouragement is this?
