The true story of Ishmael Beah, in his book “A Long Way Gone,” depicts his life story about how he was a boy soldier in the Sierra Leone civil war. At the age of twelve, he was away in a rap group with friends, when his village is attacked. Him and his gang wander between towns searching for food and possible shelter. The daily struggle lead him and his friends to commit acts that they would never do; for example: stealing food from younger children.
