The Native American Medicine Wheel is important in a ceremonial way and in a conceptual scheme. The shape signifies infinity and being connected as one and the number four is to be the number of completeness. The wheel is divided into four areas and each signifies a direction, a totem, an element, a color, a kingdom, a quality, a season, and a gateway to the individual. The races of humanity are represented by the four colors yellow, red, black, and white. The foundation for the astrological system is the four directions of the Medicine Wheel.
The Native Americans view health as a balance of mind and body and to be in harmony with all things is their goal, but first must be in harmony with oneself. To them, good health is seen for all people
