Ana has exceeded expectations in the 90 days that she has been a supervisor in the Card & Gift department. She has brought with her the drive and incredible work ethic that she possessed as a sales clerk, as well as the poise and professionalism of a member of management. Ana has been unafraid to make suggestions and has actively sought to develop cross-training amongst departments. One example of this was when Ana suggested that we use the last few minutes at the end of the day to educate other departments about the products we carry upstairs. Having observed that everyone tended to cluster around the employee entrance at the end of their shift, Ana thought it would be a good idea to make use of this time to explain where some of our merchandise is, as well as detail some of our products. One particular situation recently has been with a newer staff member, who has been noted as distracting fellow employees after her shift is over. Ana kept detailed notes, sent emails explaining certain situations, and counseled said employee. This is exactly the kind of proactive attitude and behavior that I expect from a supervisor. It is the type of behavior that cannot be taught and I am grateful that Ana possesses it. In Ana’s new position as supervisor, she has been given the duty of controlling markdowns and mark-outs. These tasks are being completed efficiently and in a timely manner. Her product knowledge and attention to detail are an obvious benefit to her position as supervisor and the additional managerial tasks that she has had to take
