“If you do not get what you want you suffer; if you get what you do not want you still suffer; even when you get exactly what you want you still suffer because you can not hold on to it forever.” (Socrates) Suffering and getting what you want and do not want takes a major role in Peaceful Warrior a movie based on the life of Dan Millman. In the movie, Dan has been controlled by his ego causing him to cause problems with his friends and even himself. Until someone comes along the way and helps fim fix his problems. Consequently, the continuous chaos in Millman’s life leads to Self vs. Alter Ego one of the main themes in Peaceful Warrior.
The first event in Peaceful Warrior that is an example of Self vs. Alter Ego is when Dan does bad things.
