“A teen brain is just an adult brain with fewer miles on it,” (NPR: The Teen Brain). This quote is talking about how teen brains aren’t as developed as adult brains yet. One part of the brain that isn’t as developed in a teen is the frontal cortex, the region of the brain that is used for essential judgement. This sometimes leads teens to make foolish decision without thinking about the outcome or how it affects others. Romeo and Juliet shouldn’t be held responsible for their impulsive behaviors; instead, we should blame love, the feud between Capulet and Montague, and the obsession of love. Loving someone else can make us do foolish things. When you are in love most people would do anything for the person they love. For example in the end of Romeo and Juliet when Romeo finds out about Juliet’s death he goes out and plans for him to die with Juliet. When he sees her he says, “Death that hath sucked the honey of thy breath,/Hath had no power yet upon thy beauty,” (V.iii.92-93). This shows how Romeo sees Juliet and questions how she can be dead without looking dead but follows through with killing himself anyways. Teens do foolish …show more content…
The feud between the two families caused the fight in the street which lead to both Mercutio and Tybalt’s death. This fight then lead to Romeo being banished and a plan devising to help Romeo and Juliet be together. This plan was very dangerous but Juliet still followed through with it because she’d do anything to be with Romeo. In the article “Romeo and Juliet’s Death Trip” is states, “...their warring families are the source of this violence it stems from the lovers themselves, and is directed at themselves,” (Peele). This shows how the feud between the families lead to the violence in the play.
