In my current position as Area Commander, I oversee the law enforcement and physical security operations for the fourth largest city in the United States, Houston, Texas. In the performance of my duties, I supervise a cadre of Federal Law Enforcement Officers, administrative staff and manage the contracted Protective Security Officer (PSO) program, which consists of 125 contracted security officers. I am responsible for overseeing the law enforcement and security for approximately 116 government-owned or leased facilities in Houston to include the surrounding areas within the southern district of Texas. In a supervisory position, I have served as Incident Commander for numerous operations to include: Operation Laredo II “High Threat” U.S. Federal Court Trial in Laredo, Texas, Operation Patriot Surge during Super Bowl 51, the NBA Final Four and most recently hurricane Harvey for the southern district of Texas. Hurricane Harvey is the largest natural disaster in South Texas since Hurricane Katrina. As Incident Commander (IC) of Operation Gimbal in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, I was responsible for all personnel (in excess of 100) both operational and mission support, as well as a Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) and additional communication vehicles. During this extremely large operation, I provided daily leadership to many subordinate commanders, lead Inspectors, special agents and mission support personnel for an extended period. As a team, we orchestrated several property and lifesaving mitigation operations which included rescues of federal and civilian personnel within the South Texas area.
