In the story, “The Bass, the River, and Sheila Mant,” the young boy really has feelings for Sheila Mant and he describes her as an amazing person and studies her moods and actions, and the things he says about her makes her seem like a nice person. Then, as he asks her out to a concert, she turns out to be stubborn and a mean person and she starts talking about the things she hated like fishing and the fact that fishing is boring and all you do is sit there and wait for a tug on the pole. So, she kind of backfired on me and I was thinking if I was in that situation I would ask her why she doesn’t like fishing or fish and ask her for a reason. The boy lives Sheila Mant and he is going to have to make some choices were he is going to have to give up what he also loves which is fishing or give up Sheila Mant and stick to fishing and realize that he is still young and there will be more Sheila Mants in his life and move on. Also, he wanted to take her to a concert and he is a gentleman and made her a comfortable seat in the canoe and he brought his fishing equipment because he thought she might want to try out fishing, but the first thing she said she doesn’t like fishing and he started panicking about where he should hide his things.
