We often hear about kids who loved to read and did well in school allowing them to achieve great things in life that they never would have done otherwise. However, language is the foundation needed for academic success and without strong language skills academic success is difficult. It’s not just in the early years that language development is critical but throughout a child’s academic career. If a student has difficulty remembering words, orally expressing their ideas, or problems comprehending the written word they will have difficulty succeeding in school.
