We honor our Veterans because we salute to them sometimes and sing the National Anthem before pretty much if not every sporting event. We also say the Pledge of Allegiance everyday in the first class of school. Another way you could honor a veteran is if you ever see anybody that's a veteran in a hospital or nursing home you visit you should honor them and thank them for their service. Also if you know someone that is a veteran in your town or city you could help them by fixing something that's broke on their house or give them something like food or anything like that. There is multiple different associations or organizations that help veterans like Canine Companions for Independence, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization, and Corporation for National and Community Service's. …show more content…
The most important way to follow and keep President Lincoln's promise is to just say thank you every day to a veterans or if you do not see one every day just tell a veteran thank you every time you see one because even though that is not giving them anything it is making them feel really good and happy that they helped our country and kept us safe. Also if you can just go to a nursing home or hospital and ask them if there is any veterans at the place that you could give something or say thank you to them. They would really appreciate if you did that because they like to know that people actually care for what they did to help our country and keep us safe from the enemies.
