In the non-fictional memoir, The Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, Gladwell states, “if you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires.” With this statement, it seems like being successful can be achieved effortlessly. Anyone can work hard and have the confidence of what they are excellent in to succeed in life. Having individuals’ biography revealed many meanings of becoming successful. The importance is using the mind, imagination, confidence so that it will bring them as many opportunities. I disagree with this statement because in this current society you do not need a special talent to be victorious, being fortunate is the key, and practicing does not mean perfect. The world’s view of success is about going viral and create different views every day.

To reach that point, one must have the passion for thriving on what they want. It may not attend to everyone, in particular, myself. For six years I have been practicing to do makeup. At the age of eleven, my aspiration was to become a professional makeup artist. With that goal in mind, I wore makeup at a young age who was basic. I have almost practiced for five thousand hours, yet I am not half perfect. In my work, I believe it takes longer than the usual makeup artist to do their entire face. My passion for makeup is overrated where my family members call me addicted. Being creative with new techniques and new looks is part of loving the art of makeup. Having the confidence of my work will give me courage and try to branch out with others.
