As an educator it is easy to see that “sharing answers or comparing work” is a plague that encompasses every classroom. I see and hear it every day; therefore I can relate to Raymond A. Schroth, author of “The Plagiarism Plague” and his passion to rid it. Although, I work at the high school level, I agree with many of Schroth’s points: academic dishonesty being out of control, parents pressuring teachers, and having some sort of unified plan to stop academic dishonesty. Schroth (2012), reasons that students cheat because they are often unprepared and not up to the task of studying habitually (p. 15).
