The three most important causes of conflict in the middle east were the Mandates, oil, and the different ethnicities. The mandates led to different things that were setbacks for the Middle East. Oil was very big because some nations started using it as a weapon. Finally, the ethnic differences made it impossible for people to negotiate. The Mandates getting their independence was the root cause of many events coming later. It led to a refugee problem after the conflicts in 1948.
