In early 1693 May Phips had pardoned and released all those in prison that were accused of Witchcraft Accusations(Schiff). “ The girls cried that they were being stabbed with fine needles. Their skin burned. One disappeared halfway down a well. their shrieks could be heard from a distance” (Schiff).
