Gospel Portraits
Gospel Essay I decided to draw this portrait because it shows me that Jesus is trying to spread the word about God. In my drawing it is Jesus talking to his disciples, giving them the power to heal the sick people and to tell the other people about the kingdom of God. This portrait reminds me of my youth football coach, he taught us not just football, but how to overcome your troubles and treat people right and stand up for the weak.

One example of why I drew my portrait is because in Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” It is Jesus telling his disciples to go out and baptize people. In Matthew 13:11 “Jesus answered them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.…”” This is telling me that the disciples are gifted and are the special ones to know about the kingdom of heaven. Also, that the other people have to earn and believe to know about the kingdom of heaven. “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth shall be saved” Matthew 10:22. This is telling me that the disciples have followed him to the end, spreading the word all the way around, never stopping. Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” This verse is telling me that Jesus will take care of all his
