In the story, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi it involves the following characters. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi which is a mongoose, Darzee who is a bird, the snakes- Nag and Nagaina, Teddy, The father and mother, Darzee’s Wife, Chuchundra, and The coppersmith. The main problem in the story is that the two snakes, Nag and Nagaina, are off to try and eat rikki and his family. In the story rikki is outside in his garden and he spots the snakes and runs back inside because he snakes had been waiting for him to come out so that they could eat him. Other characters in the story pertain to this such as Darzee because the snakes also try and eat him. The whole purpose of the story’s theme is to teach others not to wonder off and to be brave but also to be aware of your surroundings. The theme in the story is about courage. The evidence I have to support this theme is that in the story, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi- defends his family and is brave enough to go outside to kill the snakes as him and his friends help. Speaking of Nag and Nagaina once again, these wicked couple didn't expect Rikki to be more brave than he looked since he was very small and looked like he didn't have anything in him. Even though the theme mainly evolves around courage, some people may think different due to other their perspective on looking at the story. For example, people may consider the theme to be always stick to your friends or something like that. I however can contemplate and say that that's wrong. I can prove how the theme of the story is courage. In the story, Rikki takes down the 2 snakes without showing fear and what we can consider from this is that he is very brave and he actually has the courage to go out and fight the two snakes which shows bravery. He also did this to save all of his friends and family from those wicked-evil snakes that have been trying to kill the
