The Cherokees experiences on the Trail of Tears were acknowledged at Cadron Settlement Park, but the intensity of their hardships was neglected. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 began the deterioration of living conditions for American Indians as they were forced out of their traditional homeland by the United States government.
