Truth In Oedipus The King

As the game draws to a close, Oedipus realizes the terrible truth. Despite all his efforts - because of them, in fact - he killed his father and married his mother. The prophecy he and his father tried to escape came true. Nemesis Destiny that can not be predetermined The fate of Oedipus is foretold as a newborn, he tries to escape, but by his actions he works against his own interests.. The spectators see Oedipus, an incorrect but still great man, humiliated by fate. They regret his tragic circumstances and feelings. According to this brief summary I think that in the beginning Oedipus had a big pride after defeating Sphinx and saving people from plague but when he killed his father and married his mother he didn’t know the truth about them and I think when he did that it was not because of his pride but because in the end of the story he opens his eyes buy taking away his vision.

The focus of the work concentrates around the actions and feelings of people. the fourth episode, Oedipus learns from the shepherd that he is the son of Lai and Jocasta. The mother herself gave her child to the servant, so that he carried it to the rock. Jocasta committed a terrible sin - she took her own child to death.
