Overcoming depression is a hard battle to fight. Finding the strength to keep going is one of the few things this author did. Tyler Perry made the best out of what he had, his creativity. Even though he struggled with fighting his depression he made the best out of it by being a creative, dedicated, victorious man. Inspired by his mother’s personality he made the famous character “Madea” which made him gain immense fame. (“Tyler Perry Biography.”) According to the Famouspeople.com he faced physical abuse from his dad which made him fall into depression and try to commit suicide. In order to help himself he would go to church with his mother but what helped him overcome his depression was when he began writing after hearing a remark from the Oprah Winfrey show. (“Tyler Perry Biography.”) After he began writing he wrote letters that later served as the basis for the musical “I know I’ve been Changed” that later was staged for the first time in Atlanta in 1992.
