In December 1777 through June 1778 the patriots of the continental army went to Valley Forge Pennsylvania about 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia. It is Washington's winter camp. It was a very difficult place to live. The conditions were terrible. If you had been a soldier in washington's winter camp would you have quit. No I would not quit valley forge because conditions were bad but brave soldiers stuck with it, there are a lot of people sick but not a lot dying, and finally I don't want to be a summer because valuable things like freedom are worth fighting.

The conditions in Valley Forge were terrible but brave soldiers stuck with it and so did doctor Waldo. In Doc C it Waldo said ¨ I'm sick¨ poor food¨ ¨Cold weather, ¨ ¨ I vomit half my time¨, ¨ There comes a soldier in his bare feet seen through is worn out shoes.¨ It means that the conditions were terrible in valley forge. But in Doc C Waldo said ¨ Yet they still show a spirit of alacrity and contentment not to be expect from so young troops.¨ Which means that they a showing cheerful willingness. They are showing something that they are surprised they are showing at so young of troops. I would not have quit Valley Forge because of that.

In Doc A it shows that 3,989 out of 8,000 soldiers were sick in february 1778. Which means that 50% are sick. But only 1,800 out of 12,000 died. (Doc A) That is only 15%. If you had 85% chance of living would you stay? I would. But everybody gets sick during the winter. especially during February. People get sick A lot. It doesn't matter what season you can get sick in the
