More food, more money, more space, less sound, fewer problems, slimmer chance of getting caught by the Nazis. Imagine how much better and less complicated hiding would have been for the Frank’s if they hadn’t of invited the Van Daans to join them. Bringing the Van Daans into hiding with the Franks was a bad idea and they should have never done it.

The Franks shouldn’t have brought the Van Daans into hiding with them because the Franks would have more food. For example, “He goes to the food safe and again lights a match. Then he cautiously opens the safe, taking out a half loaf of bread.” (pg.424) Mr. Van Daan would sneak around at night stealing other peoples portion of food so he had more and everyone else had less. If the Van Daans weren’t staying with the Franks, this wouldn’t be a problem and the Franks would have equal plus more food portions. Of course the Van Daans did not have good manners and were rude. One example is, “Why aren’t you more like your sister Margot.” (pg.387) Mrs. Van Daan was very disrespectful to Anne. That comment made Anne feel unwanted and Mrs. Van Daan had no reason to say that rude comment to Anne, especially since her parents were the ones who let the Van Daans stay with them. Another example is, “No! No! No one’s going to run water!” (pg.407) Mr. Van Daan wouldn’t let Mr. Frank water for Anne when she fainted. Anne needed water to wake her up after fainting and Mr. Van Daan was being selfish because he was scared of getting caught by the nazis. Mr. Van Daan should have risked getting caught by the nazis to help Anne because the Van Daans would have already been caught by the nazis if it weren't for the Franks.
