In Cease fire there is a member named Ameena Matthews, who is helping a young girl, Caprysha Anderson who is going through what the subjects at Giddings went through. Caprysha’s parents were never there for her and she has been in fifteen homes while raising her brothers and sisters. Ameena is there for Caprysha because she was in the same situation Ameena was in when she was younger. There are multiple shots where they both are getting their nails done, going to parks, and having fun. The only difference between them is that Caprysha still has a chance to turn her life around to better herself. There comes a point where Caprysha walks away from Ameena at a park which upset her a lot; she talks about the conversation they had before on the phone call and says “Now sitting here talking to you, there was fifteen times that I just wanted to get up and walk away from you. It is not right to treat someone like a criminal when they are still growing up physically and mentally. They will make decisions they regret. Even though I have made my argument, questions remain. Will schools take other tactics of discipline with communication seriously? Will the schools ever see how badly they are treating their own students? How far is too far going to be? What will happen to those students who never find someone to believe in themselves to become a better person? These questions are important because there have been extreme cases before in school discipline, and who knows how bad it will get. The tactics like the healing circle may not be taken serious, even though it has been proven to be effective. Communication with the youth will bring an improvement we have been wanting on, but only time can tell how long it will take to be put into
