A Gothic novel titled Frankenstein was written by Mary Shelley it centers around an ambitious scientist, Victor Frankenstein, and his pursuit of knowledge. It is narrated in the perspective of Robert Walton, an explorer determined to be the first to reach the North Pole. Victor Frankenstein attributes his tragic fate to his relentless search of knowledge. Sadly Victor’s tragic fate isn’t just because of his impeccable fascination with the knowledge of the boundaries between life and death, even though his studies and knowledge did have a lot to with his fate and suffering. As the creature opens its eyes and starts to breathe, he becomes afraid and realizes what he has done. Without consideration and with a change of heart, Victor runs away from his own work. This then brings his second mistake that will eventually lead him to his undoing. After Victor runs away from the once innocent creature the second time, it is left with no option but to feel abandon by its own creator and to flee into the forest. Here it begins that the creature’s fate changes from having someone care for him and having family to being left all by itself with no guidance to later become a revengeful killer. While the creature finds shelter in hovel near a hut that is occupied by a family, he begins to learn about the world and how to speak from a distance by the De Lacey family. The creature has no success in finding a family or someone who will look past his features and love him for him. After trying to make many attempts to find where he fits in, he realizes he is not wanted or needed by anyone, not even his own creator. The creature then becomes enraged and seeks out Victor for revenge. When he arrives in Geneva, he faces more hatred from mankind and ends up running into Victor’s little brother William, who the creature kills after finding this out from the …show more content…
This action here later leads to the death of Justine. Two months after the little boys and Justine’s death, the family goes on vacation to help with the grieving process. Victor goes along, but then decides he needs to be alone and travels through the Alps and the Valley of Chamonix. This is where Victor and his creation meet again after just seeing a glimpse of him at the spot where William was murdered. The creature can, now, speak and gives Victor an ultimatum, where he asks/begs Victor to create a female version of himself so he could be happy and not alone; however, if Victor denied his request he was going to seek revenge once again and kill his family and friends. After Victor hears the story of the creature he agrees upon it. Several months later after travelling with Henry, his best friend, Victor ends up in Scotland telling Henry to do his own thing, so he could begin the second creation. While close to the finish Victor rethinks his decision and decides not to follow through. This angers the creature and sends him into a killing rage. After Victor throws away the body parts Henry is the first to die. Soon the same fate came to his darling wife, Elizabeth, after her death Victor’s father becomes ill and dies a few days later, leaving Victor with no one
