Gun Violence Argumentative Essay

The problem with guns is destroying America, injuring and killing innocent civilians. In the United States, the 2nd amendment of the Constitution allows for the right to bear arms, which allows people to use guns. Over time, due to this law, gun production in America has increased drastically and today guns are among the 5 most common deaths and over 15,000 people die from guns each year. Although some people believe we should be able to use guns due to protection and the 2nd Amendment, it is clear that guns cause more harm than good based on gang violence, mass shootings, and accidental killings.

One of the worst things guns cause is an increase in gang violence. A quote from,” We need bolder gun control legislation” by Kim Zoe shows this,” A shooting occurred in Sacramento this past weekend leaving 6 dead and 12 in the hospital, the biggest shooting in the city's history” The quote,” This was caused by gang violence”. Due to guns being commonly available, rival gangs are becoming more violent with each other. Due to this, more shootings and crimes are happening resulting in people getting injured or killed. But this is not the only reason why guns do more harm than good.

This quote shows how, due to gun rights, we are still doing nothing and we need gun control.
