1) George Washington was one of the “three indispensable men” of the Constitutional convention who had an important role in the outcome of the convention in 1787. George Washington had to be convinced to show up to this event by James Madison and Henry Knox, subsequently he was unanimously made president. They knew that Washington was trusted and respected as a result of his actions during the war they needed Washington to play a central role during the delegates’ decision making.
