In the U.S., there are many freedoms that all citizens of the United States enjoy. Examples of rights that we as U.S. citizens have are freedom of speech, search and seizure, the right to a speedy trial, etc. To ensure that a person has these freedoms, they might have to fight for them or end up having to go to war to get the freedom and justice they deserve. There are a lot of countries that are not as privileged as the United States, people in third-world countries have to fight to get what is truly theirs in life. In the United States, we have rights and freedoms that are given to us as soon as we are born. One of those rights is freedom of speech, which ensures that as U.S. citizens you can share opinions through protest, writing, or even …show more content…
Another privilege that U.S. citizens have is search and seizure, this makes sure that normal citizens are protected from police searching their property without a search warrant or probable cause. Countries like Russia have a thing called the K.G.B. which is a corrupt police force. People pay the officers to throw citizens in jail even though they are most likely innocent. Lastly, one of the final privileges that U.S. citizens have is the right to a speedy trial. A speedy trial will make sure that if a person is accused of committing a crime, they will have the opportunity to be tried until proven guilty, since in America you are innocent until proven guilty. A lot of countries like Mexico, etc. do not care if you are innocent or not, they will throw you in jail no matter what, since in their country they believe you are guilty until proven guilty. Even though we as Americans have all of these freedoms now, back in the day like the early 1900s, all Americans did not have the privileges to the same rights and freedoms.
