A little girl named Scout is one of the main characters in the book To Kill A Mockingbird. Scout is having a difficult time accepting the fact that people are struggling with poverty and do not have a lot money in the small town of Maycomb. They are experiencing hard times and unemployment. A tragic event happened in the 1930s known as the Dust Bowl.
The Dust Bowl was a disaster for people in the Great Plains. It was a long drought compounded with over-farming and led to erosion of topsoil. The topsoil was combined with high winds and continuous lack of rain which began to create a dust storm. The Dust Bowl happened during the 1930s in the Great Plains. The Southern Plains were most affected by this disaster.
This had a big impact on life
