Why Do Athletes Use Steroids

As an avid sports fan and a regular when it comes to working out, I have witnessed too many times in my life where steroids have been able to ruin some one's career, reputation, and/or life. I have witnessed some of my favorite athletes fall victim to steroid abuse. It is disheartening to turn on a sporting news channel and see the harm that these athletes are doing to their bodies. Athletes use steroids to become stronger, faster and better at what they do. It is unethical for athletes to use steroids because it makes an unfair advantage, has a bad effect if the fans and supporters look up to professionals that use steroids, and it can also have dangerous side effects on human body.

There are many professional players that have used steroids in their career to become better. Steroids are a performance-enhancing drug that increases your muscle and strength, and athletes want any advantage they can have when it comes to game time. Athletes can have a lot of fans and followers that love them a lot. From kids to adults and some people will pay a lot of money just to see their favorite player play. Everyone will respect you for hard work and effort in the gym. Whether your hard work produces a great looking body or increased performance in sports people will always give you praise if it is done the right way. However, if it found out that you took steroids then you all your hard work is questioned. For example, everyone respected Barry Bond's and Roger Clemen's achievements, but now that they are alleged steroid users they are looked at negatively. When you take steroids and cheat yourself you are hurting every one of those fans that follow you. Then once that athlete takes steroids they are teaching that it is okay to cheat in
