Why Is Civil Disobedience Wrong

Civil disobedience is a right that I believe all Americans should be able to obtain. When peacefully resisting something that a civilian believes to be unfair, it allows them to utilize their freedom of speech and, I think, can positively impact a society. Peaceful resistance generates a way in which people can calmly deliver their thoughts without unnecessary usages of violence and uproar. Recently, many American civilians have been exercising their right to civil disobedience in the numerous protests and marches for the Black Lives Matter Movement around the United States. Among these places includes Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, three major cities who were able to peacefully protests their disagreements with the law. The seemingly tossed aside deaths of innocent African Americans have angered many and the nation is not at all quiet about their discontentment. The civil disobedience shared by these grieving people allows the actions of injustice to spread among those who may not know and allows for their voices to be heard across a nation. This helps to bring communion upon an otherwise disconnected society. Not only are there people of color raising their signs of justice and thrusting their fists freely into the air, but people of all different races are coming together to disperse one big idea: that we are all one, and everyone’s lives should matter.
