Prevent contact: An effective safeguard must block hands, arms or any other part of a worker's body from being in touch with hazardous moving parts. Be secure: a secure safeguard should not be easily removed or tampered with by the worker, otherwise the safeguard is ineffective and useless. Guards and safety devices should be made of durable materials that will tolerate normal use. They should strongly secure to the machine whenever possible or secured elsewhere if attachment to the machine is not possible. Protect from falling objects: The safeguard should ensure that will prevent the object from fall into moving parts. Create no new hazards: as if a shear point, a jagged edge or an unfinished surface or any hazards is created by the safeguard, it should overcomes its purpose.
