Englishmen settling in the New World was not unheard of but it did cause an uproar. Though they had adequate reasons, like internal conflicts, for setting the natives did not enjoy the company. This could be because of the way the Englishmen forced themselves onto the Native Americans. Or, possibly, because the changes that were caused by the Englishmen were not all positive. The English went to the New World for a fresh start and to do that they needed to basically push the natives out of their homes and shake up their way of life.

Europeans had already started making money from the Americas before moving there by organizing commercial and imperial ventures with them. Another conflict was the rise and fall of empires. These empires included the Aztec and Inca empires, which were demolished by the Spanish empire in the 16th century. The most prominent reason for the English to settle the New World was religion. A cultural renaissance was beginning at this time that was changing how some Europeans felt about Christianity. Before discovering the New World about 75% of the population were pagans. The English went to the New World looking for power and wealth that they didn't have in Europe.
