Throughout life we will all face things that we aren’t prepared for. As these situations arise we can either give up and run or we can stick it out and have resilience. In the article “Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way”, Anna Harrington talks about mental illness and how we can use and develop resilience to overcome obstacles (Harrington, 2012). It is inevitable that we will face hard times, but we have the choice to learn from these situation and have them change us for the better.

It’s no secret that you can be your own worst enemy. Over thinking situations is something that can make people stress and doubt themselves. This is something that I am guilty of. Throughout my life I have dealt with terrible anxiety that comes out whenever a stressful or new thing occurs. When thinking about resilience the phrase mind over matter comes to mind. By focusing on your strengths and being courageous, you will be able to overcome anything that comes your way. Bad things are going to happen, you just have to try to find the good in them.

Smarthinking, a service provided to students by Bethel University, is a program that offers students help with their studies (Bethel University, 2014). Within the Smarthinking program there are tutoring options that students may select in order to get extra help in a particular subject. Students can submit questions in live, drop-in tutoring and wait for their response or they can schedule an appointment with a tutor of their choice for a 30 minute session. Along with tutoring, Smarthinking offers students help with their essays. By using the Writing Center, students are able to submit a draft of their essay and receive feedback within 24 hours. There is also an option for students to submit paragraphs under 200 words for
