The old expectations began to change due to more women gaining control of their own lives. As the women began to enter new roles not only as wives and mothers, they also became more involved in the workforce, fought for equal rights, and much more. Thus, began the fight for the use of contraceptives as a way for women to gain control of their own bodies. This movement had raised arguments for birth control to either be in favor or against.
